This workshop will provide a platform for exchanging and enhancing scientific and technological knowledge with real time applications among experts from Industry and Academia in the area of Cloud and Internet of Things.
Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to be the new wave of future technology. Unlike previous technology, IoT does not require high technological investment. Off-the-shelf electronic parts such as sensors, microcontrollers, and networking peripherals have become very affordable with lower prices and higher performance than ever before. Individual developers or even small enterprises can create their own IoT products without having to set up large factory facilities. This global technological trend brings a promising opportunity for new businesses and innovative services.
This workshop will introduce the basic concepts of Internet of Things and their applications through hands-on learning experience. Participants will learn about basic electronics, microcontroller programming, IoT communication protocols, and necessary software tools. Participants will experience how to program microcontrollers to perform simple data sensing and actuating tasks.
